Our new house in Durham

We were so busy with moving this past month that we didn't have a chance to post until now. After viewing many houses in October, many of which were too small or not quite right, we finally secured one in Old North Durham and moved in right before Halloween.

Our new contact info is:

1204 N Elizabeth St.
Durham, NC 27701

Here are some photos of it:

The kitchen finally has sunlight! Our two previous apartments in North Carolina had the kitchen entirely enclosed in the unit so that there was absolutely NO natural light. Not only does it have light, but we have enough room to cook AND eat in it! Which is obviously a huge improvement.

We have a new green dresser in our south-facing bedroom which also gets some sunlight. We are clearly still in the midst of unpacking - this usually takes us about a month to get everything put into the proper places. With a baby on the way, this process is taking even longer, but it will all be worth it when we're done.

This is the front of the house. Having a porch is
new for us, and we're already looking forward to eating dinner and playing games on it this coming spring and summer. It's a little too cold to be using it much right now, and we need to get some furniture for it, like a bench swing.

This is the side and back of the house. We have a 50 year old pecan tree in the back yard and some nice large trees in the front. Those bikes made the trip out from Portland, but now they will finally get some use!

Finally, Happy Belated Halloween from the three smallest jack-o-lanterns ever:
